I was born in Pocasset, Massachusetts, which is located in the Cape Cod area. After losing my husband and daughter to their alcohol addiction, I became an Awareness Coach. I reach out to substance abusers behind closed doors, their families and the public to make them aware that alcohol and drug abuse will kill. I am available to go to any private or public event to give a speaking engagement on “The Effect of Alcoholism on the Whole Family.” Email alberta.sequeira@gmail.com for a quote.
I am a director, producer and co-host to the NBTV-95 Cable TV show in New Bedford, Massachusetts. I interview other writers, authors, publishers or anyone connected to the publishing world.
I teach a three hour writer’s workshop on “Bring Your Manuscript to Publication.” It’s not a class on “how to write” but helping writers and authors on how to promote and market their manuscripts or book(s). My second class is another three hour course on “How to Self-Publish Your Own Book with Create Space.”
I enjoy being a co-founder to Authors Without Borders at http://www.awb6.com. Our group of four published authors offer services to the community, schools and any location poetry slams, speaking engagements, book signing, discussion panels or readings.
I am not new to the media. I have been on many cable shows, radio stations, blog radio, Catholic ministries or their World Radio Maria show, and have had many interviews with the newspapers. I write a weekly blog for the www.capecodtoday.comwww.plymouthdailynews.com, and to the teenagers at http://causehub.com under the name “busygirl.”

It’s a full hour (or longer by request) talk on the actions of God in our lives. Hopefully, the audience will come to realize that we have to just slow down for a moment and contemplate what is really important to us in our own worlds…the people in our lives whom we love and care about and a God Who will never abandon us.

INSTRUCTOR:

I’m an instructor in a three hour course in “Bring Your Manuscript to Publication.” It’s not a writer’s course but one that takes the writer from their thoughts of a story up to their publication.

The topics include: Introduction to Writing, Online Thoughts, Grammar Problems, Words to Avoid, Editing, Reference Books, Getting Published, Agent or Publisher, Perseverance, Query Letter, The Hook, Synopsis, Book Proposal, Book Cover/Title, Promoting, Ways to Make Money and Get known, E-books, Kindle and Websites of Authors.
I also teach a class “How to Self-Publish Your Own Book with Create Space”
CABLE SHOW:
I am a director, producer and co-host to the NBTV-95 Cable TV Show in New Bedford, Massachusetts. I interview writers, authors, artists, publisher and anyone in the publishing world.
FUTURE PLANS WITH WRITING:

I published my book titled What is and isn’t Working for the Alcoholics and Addicts; Their Own Personal Stories. My goal is to have the addicts reach out to others with their personal downfall on turning to alcohol abuse and drugs. Hopefully, they will show others how this disease over-powered them to lose everything. What a wonderful gift for the substance abuser to help each other.

My next exciting achievement is writing my very first fictional book. It’s now time for readers to see there is a lighter side to me. It’s titled The Rusty Years. The story is about a ninety-two-year-old woman, who thinks she is ready to go to the “Pearly Gates” until a mystery from the past arrives, and she wants to find the answers.
MARRIED YEARS

In 1993, I remarried and now live in Rochester, MA with my husband, Al. We have five children; Deborah Dutra of Berkley, Lynne Poitras of E. Freetown, John Sequeira of New Bedford, Alan Sequeira of Westport and Carol Applebee of Maine. Our beloved daughter, Lori (Cahill) Nadeau died November 22, 2006 of Cirrhosis of the liver from her drinking at an early age of thrity-nine. We are blessed with ten grandchildren; Michael & Kerri Dutra, Joe & Meagan Cahill, Andy & Kailey Poitras, Rosalie & Lillian Sequeira and Jordan & Julia Applebee.

I belong to the St. John Neumann Church in East Freetown and had been a Eucharistic Minister and Vice President of the St. John Neumann Couple’s Club for two years.
My relaxation comes from reading when there is spare time, which is not too often, I enjoy gardening, when my energy and legs permit, social events, and my greatest joy is writing to touch the hearts of readers, and reaching out to the alcoholic and drug users.
After retiring early, I devoted every spare moment to finishing my books. I had felt there was a beautiful human interest story to share after the loss of my father, a husband and my daughter.
