SOMEONE STOP THIS MERRY-GO-ROUND; AN ALCOHOLIC FAMILY IN CRISIS
Review:
My Master’s in Counseling Degree covered a huge portion on substance abuse counseling. I found that I learned a great deal more by reading this story, than I did in reading textbooks. Someone Stop this Merry-Go-Round is a must read for counselors, alcoholics and family members of alcoholics. Paige Lovitt

PLEASE, GOD, NOT TWO; THIS KILLER CALLED ALCOHOLISM
Review:
A heart-wrenching story of alcoholism’s toxic effect on family.
By Thomas Cirignano
While reading “Please, God, Not Two” I couldn’t help but develop a true connection to the author’s daughter, Lori. I found myself wishing I could reach out to her and help fight the affliction of her alcoholism. Her entire family and circle of friends suffered terribly because of this disease. The author’s story brings you close to the emotions and sense of helplessness that accompanies a situation where only the afflicted has control over the outcome. But that doesn’t mitigate the feelings of regret and self-doubt that a parent will assuredly feel. Loved ones will be left with the question, “What could I have done differently to save the life that was needlessly wasted?” People who drink and feel the slow progression of this disease, must be given this book. Maybe if they see how their drinking will destroy not only their own life, but the lives of those who love them, they may just find the strength to alter the destructive path they are on. My heart goes out to the author, Alberta Sequeira, her husband Al, and her entire family. Alberta somehow found the will to not only go on, but to try and prevent others from having to experience the same nightmare. As painful as it must have been, I salute her for sharing her story.
Tom Cirignano, author of “The Constant Outsider, Memoirs of a South Boston Mechanic” and “67 Cents: Creation of a Killer”.

By MSH58
I have learned a lot from family and friends who are in recovery and this book took it one level deeper. The stories are raw, honest and heartfelt from the people who lived through the pain and came out on the other side. I would recommend this book to family members or friends who want to know how an addict/alcoholic thinks. It’s also could be a good way to open a conversation with a loved one who is struggling to come to grips with whether they have a problem. We all want to know the right way to handle things and I think Alberta’s book gives us insight that there is no “pat” answer that applies to every addict. Bravo to the folks telling their stories!

A SPIRITUAL RENEWAL; A JOURNEY TO MEDJUGORJE
Review:
By Sharon Lavy
Reading A Spiritual Renewal was like reading a long personal letter from an old and cherished friend. I was proud of her as she persevered through illness and discouragement to receive the blessing of taking the trip to Medjugorje. A trip she needed to take in honor of her father’s life and for her own spiritual healing. She experienced the treasures that can only be found at that place.
